PC housekeeping
All computers benefit from regular housekeeping - we all know when a machine starts to slow down is is nearly always because there is too much in the machine. The extent of the benefit will depend on how old the machine is, how much it is used and what has been done previously. We can do this for you in the first instance, then give you advice on what you want to do yourself to keep it as tuned as possible.
Hardware Upgrades or Repair
Not everyone wants to keep buying a new machine every couple of years, and depending on what you use it for it may be more than capable of running for many years before you need to replace it. We can help you get the most from your current hardware by upgrading instead replacing with a new machine.
Sometimes hardware fails, and maybe more so here with the more prevelant lightning strikes (we all have surge surpressors on all our expensive electrical hardware don't we...). Sometimes it is more cost effective to repair a faulty component than look at a new purchase, we can advise when the is practical.
Software installation, re-installation or upgrading
When you get a new machine now, it always comes pre-loaded with lots of applications, many of which you won't use (but still take up resources on your machine). We can advise you on the type of applications you really need (and where possible will recommend free versions of popular utilities so you do not need to spend more money).
You may also need to upgrade or re-install software and not feel comfortable doing it yourself - we can help you with this.
Networking (Wireless and wired)
One of the biggest break throughs with computers was networking them together so they can shares resources. If you have more than one computer and want to share data and hardware between them then you will want to network them. This can be done using a traditional wired network, or where this isn't practical a wireless networks using WiFi technology.
Printer ink and other consumables
Printer manufacturers know they will make a great deal more money during the life of a printer in supplying the consumables (ink, photo paper...) than the cost of the printer itself. Inkjet printers in particular offer great prices for the printer, but you often can end up spending as much as a new printer again on a full set of ink cartridges. Where possible we can supply you with quality compatible cartridges, or a refilling service. It isn't just Ink you may need for your computer, toner for laser printers, diskettes, CD or DVD disks, etc can all be supplied when required.
UK Satelitte Television
It is possible with the correct equipment to receive satelitte signals from the UK (where you can watch the normal UK channels, like BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Chanel 4...) for free. We are happy to advise or assist in getting this working for you.
